Erin & Shane

My husband Shane and I first knew that Siobhan was the wedding planner for us when she didn't blink an eye at my persnickety question about the setting sun's approximate angle over Glassillaun Beach at a specific time in the evening. To Shane (and probably most others on the planet) my question was absurd; Siobhan, though, treated finding an answer to it as a matter of course. Throughout the months-long process of planning our destination wedding in Connemara, Siobhan was patient, resourceful, and responsive to our many detailed questions. We chose "The Whole Nine Yards" package, and she certainly lived up to its advertising. As we live in the States, she was an indispensable guide to the region, as well as an enormous help in arranging vendors, scouting potential ceremony sites, and providing us with useful tidbits about the area.

Siobhan understood the vision we had for our wedding almost intuitively and matched us perfectly with a reception venue, ceremony locale, photographer, florist, and cake designer, among other vendors. For the day-of coordinating, she was prompt, prepared, and a reassuring, calming presence. She anticipated potential problems way in advance and followed up with creative solutions. Siobhan is easygoing, down-to-earth, and generous with her time and knowledge. She is also honest, an invaluable quality always, but especially appreciated when planning a wedding! By the time Shane and I married, we'd only known her for about six months, but it felt like much longer -- she's that trustworthy and reliable. Perhaps most importantly, it was obvious that Siobhan wanted Shane and me to experience a meaningful, beautiful, unforgettable day, and at every turn, she went the extra mile to ensure that our wedding reflected our love. We had the wedding of our dreams, no doubt, and will always have Siobhan to thank for it!

After deciding on a destination wedding in Connemara, the biggest challenge was how to actually plan a wedding from a different time zone in a different country, without being able to meet with anyone in person until the week before. We soon contacted Siobhan, and it was easily the best decision of our planning process. From the beginning Siobhan did a fantastic job understanding what we wanted our day to be and then helping us make it happen.

She frequently touched base with us, provided advice and kept us on track with paperwork or planning steps. She suggested and contacted the florist, hairstylist, musician and photographer, and also helped us reserve the church and find a priest to marry us. We loved all of the vendors she recommended and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. I don't know what we would have done without her insight, organization and help coordinating it all!

We got married in the village of Leenane, Connemara, where we live for the last 5 years, where we met & fell in love. We just couldn’t think of a better place for us to say YES! The whole idea was to keep it as simple as possible and bring two cultures and families, Irish & French, together, under a relaxed, fun and sincere atmosphere.

Siobhan got our spirits & styles right away & couldn’t be more spot on with all the little things she brought in from the start & the massive help she put in closer to the big day. From writing guests names on Connemara beach stones using her unique calligraphic talent, using slates left over from her own house build to decorate the tables, to dealing with the solemniser on the day to make sure everything little detail was highlighted & respected. Because at the end of the day, what makes a wedding special is the little details that mean something for the two people who are getting married & Siobhan couldn’t get that better. She just managed to make everything look pretty, to take any last minute changes/pressure off our shoulders (as we only found out days later what went wrong few hours before the ceremony & we never noticed a thing, how professional!).

She has this natural sense of organisation without being strict & rigid but with all the flexibility and roundness in the world and for me, that is the winner team! So thank you again Siobhan for such a fantastic job, it was just pure pleasure having you around for those few months, we definitely had one of the most amazing day & enjoyed every single second of it!

Siobhan was so easy to work with when it came to planning our wedding. We were having a humanist ceremony and this was absolutely no problem to her, as she took all our wishes and worries into consideration. She continuously took into consideration our guests & their age groups when planning.

From the music to the flowers, she was on hand to give advice & help organise - She even made our desserts and they were the best deserts I have had at any wedding, which makes it such a bonus that it was my wedding! Between the organisation & the beautiful romantic background of Connemara, we had an amazing day, made easy with Siobhans help. Thank you again to Siobhan for all her help and we could not recommend her enough.

Our experience with Siobhán started with a nice informal chat in our kitchen over a cup of tea. We had no idea where to start and were a little bit daunted at the amount of work involved. Siobhán put together a great excel spreadsheet for us with our options for the ceremony, the reception and other useful pieces of information. The other thing she did was give us a list of things to do, so the big project was broken down into manageable little steps which was just what we needed.

Siobhán really listened to what we wanted and nothing we suggested was seen as silly or unrealistic. She reminded us many times that it was “our day” and the people we really needed to suit with our plans were ourselves. Things can spiral out of control when you’re planning a wedding, the more you see, the more you can get distracted and go off course. Siobhán was available through messaging, phone and emails all the time and was very quick to respond to any questions or ideas and keep us focused. She reminded us to enjoy the process and have fun in planning our special day.

Everyone dreams of the proposal and the wedding but nobody tells you about the absolute fear that can take hold when you’re faced with a thousand million decisions to make. Having Siobhán on your team makes it all much easier. We are very thankful for her kind advice and help.

Siobhan was an incredibly proactive, practical, and calming presence for us during our wedding planning and the day itself. We could not have asked for a better person to help us through this process, and were able to enjoy our day knowing that Siobhan would sort out any problem - and she did! We had a relatively complicated outdoor wedding with the ceremony in a stand of trees and marquees in a field in rural Connemara (in October no less), with half the guests coming from the US, and a lot of family pitching in to do various jobs - Siobhan coordinated it all with good humor, excellent ideas, and really felt more like a friend who we could trust and understood what we wanted right from the start.

She sorted great musicians several days before the wedding when we realised we had not done this, found solutions for lighting where there was no electricity, soothed flower girls who were not too excited about going out in the cold, and did not let a bunch of American aunties who were a bit too excited about wedding preparations frazzle her (or us) - she did it all with grace and a smile, always ensuring that what was happening was in line with what we wanted. We never thought we would need a wedding planner but having Siobhan was one of the best decisions we made and was an immediate stress reliever. We can't recommend her highly enough.
